About Brooke Mouton
Hi, I’m Brooke.
I got into production because I thought I wanted to be an actress. It didn’t take long for me to realize I was much more interested in how everything came together behind the camera.
I grew up in Louisiana, starred in local commercials in high school, took theatre classes at LSU, and started working on movie sets around Baton Rouge while I was in college. When I moved to Los Angeles, I took whatever jobs I could get on indie films — I didn’t really care what the job was, I just wanted to be on set and learn how everything worked. A few years in, I took a summer job as a kids camp counselor on the beach, where one of the families eventually offered me a nanny job. I told them I really wanted to get back into production. Turns out, they owned a post-production house. They offered me a split role between the office and helping with their kids; eventually, the office won. That’s where I learned commercial post-production and met the people who would eventually bring me to Panay Films.
Panay changed everything for me. Over the next 10+ years, I worked my way up on the agency side while also learning to line produce through Panay’s in-house production company, Lemonade Monkey Productions, eventually becoming its Head of Production. It gave me the opportunity to understand the same business from very different sides. I could be the agency producer working with the client and creative team on one project, and on another be building the crew, managing the budget, hiring vendors, and figuring out how we were actually going to pull it all off. Along the way, I also executive produced the independent feature The Stalking Fields, giving me the chance to take everything I’d learned and apply it to a completely different kind of production.
After more than a decade at Panay, I went freelance and quickly landed at Omnicom, where I’m currently producing for AT&T. I love producing, I love being on set, and I love figuring out how to take something that exists on a page and bring it to life.
